On the old version of PP there was a pinstripe template and on the new one I
can't find it.

It might be in one of the MS template packs here:
http://pptfaq.com/FAQ00080.htm

Or, if you have a presentation based on that template, just apply that
presentation as a template. If you need instructions for that, please let us
know which version of PPT you're using. ("The new one" could be 2007, or it
could just be new to you....)

Okay.

Were you able to download the template from the MS site (but not able to
find it and apply it to a presentation in PowerPoint), or are you saying
that you cannot download it? (Assuming it's even online, that is.)

If you can download it, does it open in PowerPoint, or does it just save to
your harddrive somewhere?

Sorry if I seem pedantic, but I can't see what you're doing there.

Okay, thanks.

In 2007, go to the Design tab and click the "More" button (bottommost arrow)
on the Themes Gallery to open the gallery dropdown. Select "browse for
themes," and navigate to the pinstriped POT file. Click Apply.

To make the file show up in your themes gallery (in the "custom" section),
put them in the appropriate folder:

(in Windows Vista)
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes

(in Windows XP) C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes

This page needs a bit of work, but there's more about where to put your 2007
themes and stuff here: http://www.echosvoice.com/2007/whatgoeswhere.htm It
applies to POT templates, too.

Hi Sunshine

Just a comment for you here: I had a training attendee once who was using
the pinstripe template and it looked beautiful on their LCD monitor but as
soon as we projected it it looked awful - you couldn't see the pinstripes
just a kind of grey fuzzy background. I believe this is something to do with
the projector's resolution capabilities. Anyway, always best to test your
presentation through a projector (if that's how it's to be delivered) if at
all possible.
