When I open more than 1 ppt file they appear in the same window. This does
not make it easy to have two files side by side to edit copy and paste, etc.
How do I turn off single-window mode to open files side by side?

I'm afraid you can't turn off single-window mode in Powerpoint. You can have
two windows side by side with some trick, there is an explanation on the
Powerpoint-Team blog http://blogs.msdn.com/powerpoint/ (from April 06 2008).
