I helped an associate upgrade to PP 2007 yesterday.  We've got two text
rendering problems I've never seen...

Problem 1:

Insert a text box on a slide, place a single character in the box, set the
box font-size to 96...

The character will display on top of the box.  This problem occurs with many
fonts, but not all...  The breaking point seems to be about font-size 56.
Below that, and the fonts appear in the box.  Sizing the box to fill the
screen doesn't help.  The text remains on top of the box.

Strange.

Problem 2:

Some carriage returns (not all) at end-of-line, appear as a box with an X in
the box.

Any help appreciated...

There's a thing with text that's 60 pt and above...and I think there's a
hotfix for it. I can't find it right now, though, I'm sorry. I'll keep
looking and report back -- or hopefully someone else will scare it up. (I
thought the article I read referenced 59 pt, maybe.)

I don't think that's the one I was recalling, but it sure looks promising!
Thanks, Pia!
