I am trying to insert  pictures from file into  picture frames on my
Powerpoint presentation, but the pictures spread over the entire slide.

How do I contain them within the frames.

I am using Office 2000 on Windoes Vista.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sarnia,
You could use the Photo album add-in for PPT 2000
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=55D24B47-C828-4141-A8DE
-9A459C63DB1A&displaylang=EN

Or you can put the picture in the background of the frame, it has been a
while since I used PPT 2000, select the frame, click on paint bucket icon in
the drawing toolbar, choose Fill effects, select picture tab, browse to your
picture, insert it, OK.

It sounds like your pic's are just too big in size,
but, if you select the pic. then grab one of the corner handles you can then
make it any size you want.
