When I try to select a cursor insertion point in the middle of a sentence or
a table cell it selects a large portion of the sentence or table instead of
just putting the cursor where I click. It is getting really annoying - any
help would be greatly appreciated.
As a note - I have to snap-to grid turned off!
Thanks,
Paul

What kind of object are you trying to insert in? Is this a text-box, text on
autoshape, or other?

Actually, it sounds like a problem with your Shift key. If it's just a
little sticky, it might be getting stuck in the pressed postition for awhile
and then when it gets unstuck, everything works great. If this problem is
all the time, it could be worse than a little sticky. If you can, try
plugging in a different keyboard and see if you still have the problem. If
it goes away - clean or replace the keyboard.

Office Button | PPT Options | Advanced. Do you have "when selecting, select
entire word" selected?
