When I create a chart the boxes have rounded corners and I would like square
corners but can't find a way to change them. Can anyone help please?

Right click on a shape in the org chart and make sure that "Use Auto format"
is NOT ticked

You should then be able to select a shape and use Draw > Change Autoshape
