Key combination for subscript/superscript

I have to write many expressions that contain subscripts and
superscripts. What's the key combination for turing text into
subscript/superscript? If there is no key combination and if none can
be assigned, is it possible to setup autocomplete, e.g. to turn M_xy
into M followed by xy in subscript?

or ctrl and +

Ctrl + = Toggles Subscript on the selection
Ctrl + Shift + = Toggles Superscript on the selection

Thanks, John and Sandy. The suggested key combinations do indeed
work. :-) I'm using PPT 2007, BTW.
