I inserted a shockwave flash object into my PPT 2007 presentation. When I
right-clicked on the object and selected "Properties", I was expecting an
option that said "(Custom)" that would allow access to flash properties so
that I could enter the "Movie URL".
The "(Custom)" option is not in the Alphabetic property list, nor is it in
the Categorized propery list. So, I tried just entering the name of the flash
file (which has an SWF extension) in the "Movie" property.
It seems to recognize the file that I am referring to, but the flash file
doesn't play, it just shows it as a picture of the original flash screen when
I'm in SlideShow view.
I have already verified that the flash file and the slideshow file are in
the same directory. What am I doing wrong?

I suspect you're doing nothing wrong. I think it's a problem with the Flash
controls, honestly. Or maybe it's a problem with how PPT reads the Flash
controls. Or something. The upshot is, it's not reliable -- as you've found.
I seem to recall that going back to a different Flash Player sometimes
resolves the issue, but you can't count on your users having an old Flash
Player -- so if you're distributing, it's not a practical workaround.

Candace, I re-read your question and I may have missed your point -- but I do
have a question: did you copy the Flash SWF in the same folder before you
inserted it in PowerPoint, or did you do that later?
Also, does this happen with just this Flash SWF file -- or with all Flash
SWF files?
