I am preparing a booklet for publication and copied the clip art which I
stored in Word as a .doc
When I copy it and paste it on the cover of my document in publisher it
appears to be there and in place but when I preview the print it does not
show and it does not print.

What is the source of your clipart? Couldn't you just import it directly
from that?

Try a "paste special" option, if that doesn't work create a web page from the Word
document. Word automatically turns the image into a .jpg and puts it into an image
folder. You can import this picture into Publisher.
