I can not get an address block in mail merge to align correctly under left
justification.  I have used several fonts, and there is always a space on the
first line before the entry.
We are trying to mail a postcard created in publisher and the address block
just doesn't look correct because of this space.
Please help me!

Please tell me that I misread your post and you didn't use several fonts
in an address.

Look at your list, is there a space before the address block? The fault probably lies
on how your data is typed in the database list.
