Hi. I'm new at scanning pictures and want to do a very
simple thing: I have a 5x7 picture that I've scanned onto
my computer and would like to email it at 50% of it size
to minimize the space taken. When I resize it at 50% in
ArcSoft photoimpression and then save it, it still opens
at 100% of its size. I would like to see it open at 50% by
default. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Donna save it in TIF format as that will normally retain the size you
desire.

You may also find an option in ArcSoft about retaining the same physical
size which can be turned off.

If you scanned the picture at 50% of the size when scanning, which is the
ideal and preferred method, it would be what you want.
