I am having difficulties ripping files from Publisher. We are using Nexus as
our rip software. I have several issues that I need help with if there is
anyone else using this combination of software.

I (reluctantly) use pub with nexus. For most purposes, I usually print to
file, distill, and fix with Acrobat Pro and Pitstop.

We do a monthly magazine in Publisher. Lately when we rip it the black text
rips screened. The only fix is to rip it CMYK which makes no sense. Does
anyone have any suggestions? Also is there a way to re-rip only certain pages
of a publisher file and have it overwrite the correct link?

There are a couple of ways to fix it, PitStop is one of them. The other is
PDF Enhancer from Apago. Both will also take care of the RGB to CMYK
conversion, though PDF Enhancer does a better job because of the color
management engine it uses.

What exactly are the difficulties you are having besides the screened black?
