Easier way to format front and back pages with opposite margins?

I am looking to print a book, pages on front and back, approx 200 pgs. I am
trying to make the body of the book flow on the inside of each page, while
sidenotes and pictures stay on the outside column of the page. Therefore,
each content text box will have to alternate from right to left on each page
so it stays on the inside, since i plan on printing on both sides of the
page. I am just learning how to conect text boxes, but is there an easier way
to format the book this way? I hope I have explained what I am trying to do.
Any insight? Thank you

ps- this may not be the ideal way for me to format the book to send into
publishing, and since I am a first timer, any other ideas on the matter of
submitting work would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

First and foremost, setup your publication as a booklet. Publisher will
automatically present the pages in the correct order, the text and the
side-notes will print as shown on the screen.

Long documents are best done in Word.

If you want a text box on each page, set your margins the size of the text box,
insert, pages, tick "Create one text box on each page." You then can reset your
margins, all the text boxes will remain consistent.

Most commercial printers will accept PDF files.

PDF is the best way to go. I always tell my clients to send a test file
before submitting the actual live job - it will save time and possible
expensive disapointment. You might ask the printer for a joboptions file to
prepare the PDF.
