I convert customer's Publisher 2002 files to PDF and do all my color
conversion in Acrobat 6. Sometimes art in the files is made up of dots or
lines in the PDF, instead of one piece, which makes working on the file
unbearably slow. I have tried printing to a PS file and saving as a PS file,
and distilling it. I have also tried printing directly to a PDF printer. The
results are the same. Does anybody have any suggestions as to why this is
happening? This happens regardless of what type of file the customer has
imported -- jpg or wmf. It seems to happen with clipart and not photographs.

first, tell your customer to not use wmf or jpg. ("wmf" is the sound such a file makes when it hits the rip<G>)
Do they have any way to convert to something else?

If they can't then they should not be doing this work.
Sorry, but this is not a computer game. It is business.
