I have created a 3' x 1'  banner. I converted to a pdf file and sent it the
printer only to find that, 1. the pdf file has copied it to 6 single pages
rather than one full page.
2. I made a few colored squares and rectangles in the banner.  I made the
squares transparent and they look great in the pub document. When converted,
th they have lines through them. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Setup a custom page size in Acrobat the same size as your banner.
Transparency does not do well in Publisher. Copy your square/rectangle, paste
special as a .png.
