I need to automatically copy specific cells from Microsoft Excel into a graph
in Microsoft Publisher - How can I do this?
Mary Sauer - 15 Dec 2005 11:57 GMT
Select the cells, copy, paste into the Publisher table. Hold ctrl to select specific
cells in Excel.

Thanks Mary,

Do you know of any macro type function that will enable me to do this
automatically or a way I can code anything to do this automatically either in
Publisher or Excel.
I know Excel has macros but don't think they will execute "externally"
outside of that software and I don't know if Publisher has any macro
capability.

I appreciate your suggestion, just wondered if there was another way?

We have a Publisher guy that will help. I'm sure he will answer your questions.

Mary Sauer <gsauer@mycolumbus.rr.com> was very recently heard to utter:

You can automate Excel from Publisher's VBA.  All Excel commands are
available by calling an instance of Excel from Publisher's VBA.  Publisher
has no macro recorder, so you will have to manually write your code, or hire
someone to do so for you.

Some tutorials on Publisher VBA can be found at

Well Tom, it depends on where you live in Ohio. I suspect it is the reason for
your problem. I am in southern Ohio and I have no problems...

Have you installed a virus program, is it Norton?

What happens if you double-click a file?

I am assuming the files are on your hard drive.

If all fails, send the files to me and I will see what I can do.
