I have used Publisher 97 since it came out and never had any problems. I
recently bought a new computer that has Windows XP and now I am having all
kinds of trouble getting my publications to print correctly. Sometimes I can
get the first draft to print, but not always. Often my publications come out
with all clip art deleted and then the clip art will actually disappear on
the screen. Often I will get half a page printed and then I get a "failed to
print" message and it shoots the publication out with the bottom of the sheet
blank. I even bought a new printer/ scanner that was more compatible hoping
that would help the problem, but to no avail. Help!!!

Try updating your printer drivers. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Check out your video driver, even though your computer is new it doesn't
necessarily mean your drivers are current.
How to troubleshoot video problems in Publisher
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323786/en-us
Open the printers folder in the control panel, file, server properties, drivers
tab, delete any references to your old printer.
Can you print okay when you try in safe mode?
