I'm printing reminder postcards 4-up on 8.5 x 11 sheets.  Let's say, for
example, I have 200 postcards (50 sheets).  I use Publisher to merge my
variable data.  Rather than sending a single file with 50 pages, Publisher
sends 50 individual documents to the printer.  Is there any way to have
Publisher send this as a single doc with multiple pages?  Thanks!

Yep.

(Registry fix courtesy of KATMA)
Open registry using regedit.exe

Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\[Publisher
Version].0\Publisher\Printing

Create new "string value" called:
NumberOfRecordsPerBatch

Double click and set a value for your batch size.

Replace [Publisher Version] with your Publisher version number. 10 is
Publisher 2002, 11 is Publisher 2003.

Thanks Ed!  I just downloaded the beta version of Publisher 7.  Do you know
if the instructions you supplied are the same for this version of Publisher?

I'm assuming you mean 2007 Microsoft Publisher?

I haven't tested the instructions in the beta, but they should work if
you use "12.0" as the version. Please post back with your results.

Ed...It'll be the first of next week before I can test the print job.
Meanwhile, in your instructions you state "Double click and set a value for
your batch size."  What determines this value?  The largest job I usually
print may have close to 3,000 postcards - or 750 sheets.  Based on this, what
should this value be?

Thanks so much for your help!

I would try zero first. Failing that, an arbitrarily large number (e.g.
16383 or 32767).

Ed...There wasn't a "Printing" sub-folder under  Publisher.  But there was a
"Preferences", so I placed the statement there.  This folder other items such
as "CatDialogPaneWidth", "DefaultTextFlow", etc., so I thought this was
probably the right place.

Ed...It seems to have worked.  I sent 30 pages to the printer and it went as
a single file.  Thanks so much for your help!!
