I have downloaded the above 2cd program but unfortunately when I go into
publisher correctly. It says Publisher cannot load the speller or dictionary.
To install Spell Checker & Hypernation dictionary, run Publisher Setup again
and Choose Custom Installation.
I have done this and it still comes up the same.
Can anyone PLEASE help me.

Do you really mean downloaded, as in from the Internet, or do you mean
installed, as in with CDs?

Put the first disk in again. chose Custom installation (or wording similar
to that). Check all of the options in there. Click on anything that looks
like it could be a nested folder.

Thank you JoAnn for your answer. Unfortunateley I have done everything I can
possibly think of to get the publisher going right but it still comes up "It
says Publisher cannot load the speller or
dictionary. To install Spell Checker & Hypernation dictionary, run Publisher
Setup
again and Choose Custom Installation." Not sure now what to do.
I have even taken it off "Add & Remove Programs" restarted the computer and
then downloaded both disks again.
Many thanks for your assistance.

Sometimes this is caused by the custom dictionary containing some corruption
or it does not contain a hard return at the end of the file. To correct this
problem, follow this procedure:
1) In Notepad, open the file CUSTOM.DIC.
2) If your custom dictionary contains some corruption, check for any non
alphanumeric characters, such as black or white squares, and delete them. If
the custom dictionary does not contain a hard return at the end of the file,
position your cursor after the last letter of the last word in the file, and
press the ENTER key.
3) Save the file and again try to use your spelling checker.
If that doesn't work, try this:

It's for an even older version of Publisher but at this point, what do you
have to lose?

When you inserted the disk, did you select the proofing tools to run all from my

Hi Mary, When I downloaded the CD's I did the first disk and then the 2nd.
I did not see where the proofing tools were on the disk as I just did the
recommended version.

Dixie, Publisher is on disk 2 in the Office suite. The Publisher proofing tools

I have an OEM Office and Publisher pack. Recently I had to reformat the
computer, and Publisher won't install, though Office was fine. It refuses to
accept the Publisher Product key. I have typed it in several times, checked
and rechecked that it's correct, but with no success.
Thanks
