How to save a website in publisher that was created in frontpage

I have been using 2000 FrontPage to create, edit and publish my websites.  I
recently upgraded (i think its an upgrade) to 2003 Publisher.  I am having a
problem saving my existing website to Publisher now.  I did try to copy the
page of my site and paste it to a new publisher document however it seems
that when I do that I have to do a lot of editing to get it to look the same
as it did before.  Is there an easier way to do this or do I have to
basically recreate my whole site in Publisher? UGH....

May I ask why you want to do this? FrontPage was made to create websites,
Publisher is a desktop publishing program. Yes, you *can* create websites
with it but going from FP to Pub doesn't quite make sense. Just asking...

Well, the reason is that I recently got a new computer and installed Office
2003 Pro which includes Publisher.  I gave my daughter my old computer which
has Office 2000 Prem which includes FrontPage.  However, I was just going to
install frontpage in my new computer but one small problem.  I don't have the
disk any more to reinstall it.  So I figured that I could use Publisher
instead since I thought that it did the same thing but apparently not.  So my
question now is .. Is there a way for me to be able to copy FrontPage and
install it in my new computer without the disk?  The computers share the
internet connection and share files so I was wondering if I could share that
program too?  or do i have to buy the software again? Thanks for all your
help!

You need the disk to install it. And since FrontPage has been discontinued,
you'd have to go to Expressions Web. Publisher doesn't do the same thing.
The end results can look alike but the mechanics behind it are different. I
love Publisher but I wouldn't try a website with it. Is this a personal site
or something for a business or non-profit org? Are you the ONLY person who
maintains it and always will be?

I created the sites to generate auto loan leads for an additional income and
I will always be the only one to maintain or manage the sites.

You can try a copy and paste into Publisher. (I asked about maintaining the
site because not everyone has Publisher.)

I already tried to do that which was my original question on how to do it or
if it could be done with out a lot of work involved. Since they discontinued
frontpage software, what is taking the place of that software and would it be
easy to save my websites in that format? or does it make more sense to just
continue using frontpage?

Expressions Web is the "replacement" program. It's different but not scads.
It would make more sense but if you gave Office to your daughter, you can't
keep FrontPage from it.

Well, I still have the computer but its in my 8 yr old daughters room and I
don't want to have to go in there to do work on my sites.  I just wanted to
figure out a way to use frontpage from her computer then with out having to
buy software .... UGH.... It just seems pointless to pay more money for
something that I already have.

You're between a rock and a hard place and a brick wall. You can either work
on your daughter's computer or you can purchase Expressions Web or you can
fight with converting (basically recreating) your site to Publisher. FWIW,
I'd suggest getting Expressions Web or checking to see if anyone still has
FP2003 for sale. I haven't looked to see if Amazon.com still has any copies
left.

FrontPage was succeeded by Expression Web (for internet websites) and
SharePoint Designer (for SharePoint/corporate intranet sites), both of
which are derived from FrontPage and share many of its features.
Expression Web is a far superior product to FrontPage and assists much
more in building standards-compliant cross-browser-compatible web pages
(something that Publisher is even worse than FrontPage at).

Upgrade from FrontPage is $90 here:

Full version is $260 here:
