I've saved my doc as a web page - when I check out the properties on the Pub
file 23.1 MB, when I check out the properties when in the saved as web page
file, it's 320 KB.  Why the differnce?  Which do I need to know when I'm
buying web hosting space?

The .pub file is not relevant to a web site. A web site is made up of html
files and image files. The .pub file is simply the vehicle that generates
the web site files. To know how much space your web site takes you need to
add up the sizes of the web site files that the .pub file generates. You can
select all the site files in Windows Explorer and right-click and go to
Properties to view the total size of all the selected files.
