Publisher embedding a word doc - 09 Oct 2004 21:29 GMT
trying to embed a word doc and get the response "publisher cannot launch or
communicate with the OLE server needed to complete this task. I have Windows

Likely a Anti-Virus program issue. The worst one being Norton. Try this
article - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;328613 -
and post back if it applies.

Thanks - I updated my Norton antivirus & when that didn't
work, I diabled the Office checks. Still not working. Any
other ideas?

I figured it was Norton.
Turn off Norton and then try it.
If that doesn't resolve it then create a new document and test with it to
see if you reproduce the problem. Reason being that Norton will corrupt OLE
containers. So you might have a bad file.
