My website used to play sounds, now I can no longer hear them.  Thought it
was related to a Windows update.

when viewing this page in MS IE 6.1, XP SP2, I hear the dog bark wav file.
The code also has the tag in place:
<bgsound src="j0074755.wav" loop=infinite>

Check your mute button, IE settings, volume control, speakers, sound card,
etc.

I have checked all but the soundcard, but I believe it is working.  It is
just some weird thing that happened to my computer.  I can hear other site's
sound, but not my own, making it embarrassing because the new site might have
sound and I don't know it because I tried to insert a sound clip and couldn't
hear it.

What IE settings would I check?  And how do I check soundcard?

Thank you so much.

Unfortunately I could hear it as well so it's not the site.

(I'm not a fan websites with sounds. Sorry.)

Me either.  But when I can't hear them working I think they don't exist.  I
did figure this out.  In IE there was a box that had become unchecked "hear
web sounds" or some such.  Now it works.  I don't want music on my business
site but because I couldn't hear it I didn't know the site had it.  Now I can
fix it.
