Internet gateway not showing on restart after installing sp2

Since installing sp2 to update windows XP my internet gateway icon in
connections window doesn't show and I have to repair wireless link up to
router on every start up?

Can anyone tell me why this happens as before instaling sp2 this problem
didn't happen.

I also use the same wireless configuration on a PC with windows 2000 and
this connection is fine so I know that my set up is fine.
