Hi, how could I turn over the maintenance of a web site to someone else, if
that person doesn't have Publisher. I designed the site using the Publisher
program, but not with Publisher templates.
Thank you in advance. Karole

What difference does the version make?

Pub 2003 adds additional code - not a good situation for someone who doesn't
have Publisher. (Check out the archives on different issues that others have
had. As for me, I use FrontPage for my websites.)

I understand about Pub 2003 code. My point was that it doesn't matter which
version of Publisher is being used. What would you have answered if the
poster had said they were using Publisher 2002, 2000, 98 or 97? From what I
understand each version of Publisher generates code unique to that version.

I believe that the only way to 'effectively' maintain a website created with
Publisher is to use the original pub file, which of course requires
Publisher. If YOU 'check out the archives' and David Bartosik's FAQ and
other materials about using Publisher for website development, David and
other posters have said, the results of importing the Publisher generated
HTML files from any version of Publisher into FrontPage, is never
satisfactory, and that it almost always better to just start over. I have
read the same is true of Dreamweaver.
