I am currently using publisher 2003 and after opening a saved publication I
can not see any pictures. I can print the document out and the pictures are
printed, I just can not see them to resize or change their position. I have
tried to use the View-Pictures setting, but no change. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Mike

Are the images linked?
 1.. On the Tools menu, click Graphics Manager.
 2.. In the Graphics Manager task pane, under Display options, in the Show list,
select Missing/modified pictures.

Hi Mary,

thanks, however no joy! I can open the document on another computer and see
everything, just not on this one. Very weird, I think that I might have to
delete office and start again.

Hi Mary,

cracked it! After formatting hard drive and installing office, etc I still
had the same problem! Hours of fun but no joy!

It would seem that my graphics card has to have the acceleration turned off
in the display properties before I can see the images. It should have clicked
that this problem occurred soon after I installed this new graphics card. Not
sure how I can get around this problem as all drivers and bios of card are up
to date. Perhaps an MS guru can tell me?

Thanks again,

Mike.

Dear Mike;

I have the same problem.  I am using same pubisher and trying to create  a
holiday card.  When I begin the project, the pictures I insert may or may not
appear all the time, however, when I save the project and re-open, I never
get to see my work.  Although, they do print out correctly.  What's up with
that?  Hopefully someone can help us.

To quote Mary Sauer:

"Sounds like a video driver issue.
Try this, slide the acceleration down on your adapter, control panel,
display,
settings tab, advanced button, troubleshoot tab. (About three notches)
If this solves your issue, go to the manufacturer's web site and look around
for an
updated graphics driver."

David;

Fixed the Problem; THANK YOU!  Here was the issue.  You were correct, I
opened the driver properties window and first chose to de-accelerate my
driver by 2-3 notices; it worked.  Then I noticed a check box saying, "Enable
write combining".  Whatever this box really does, the "what is it"
description is poor, however, when I accelerated the driver again to Max and
un-checked the "Enable write combining" it work too.

All is well, and I am happy!

Thanks again

Jack,

I thank you...Mary thanks you, for the feedback. And though this "fixed" the
problem for you, it also indicates that you probably need to check for an
updated driver.

David;

I updated all drives, still the same issue.  What I am going to do is send
this to ATI for their department to address; again, thanks....
