Does Publisher support hotlinks for images yet without inserting code?
Has it ever?  I have 2000 and 2002.

It sure would save on storage space and upload time to be able to kee
static photos and graphics from being resampled and republished ever
time.  We'd have control over our images and not have to worry abou
when and if Publisher resamples things

2000, 2002, and 2003 all require doing that yourself -

David,

I think you misunderstood the question because your sample link opens
new window to display the icon, which is indeed another common questio
(and certainly a feature which is long overdue in Publisher).

I meant a hotlink to a graphic image for disaplay on the page but whic
is not published with the page.  The image can be at another location.
This would allow us to bypass Publisher's resampling problems.  In you
example, your icon would appear inline with the text or in a spac
reserevd for it
