re- sizeing a website

i did up this site for my sister in law, it looks grand in publisher, but
when it gets uploaded there's  a large blank area on the right, can anyone
tell me where i'm going wrong.

This is a normal function of Publisher.  Publisher aligns from the left
rather than center.

Adding to Chris' advice you can make more use of that available space by
setting up your page as Wide (7?").
