When I try to hyperlink a web button from the design gallery object it will
not work. If I creat a text box and hyperlink it to same file it works great.
Please help. Using Publisher from Office XP.

State what steps you are using to create the hyperlink.
State in detail what exactly doesn't work.

I inserted a web button from the design gallery and renamed it, then right
clicked on new name and hyperlinked to a file on our intranet. When I went to
the web page preview and clicked on link, nothing happened. The pop-up shows
that the link is pointed to the correct file on our intranet. I then created
a text box and hyperlinked the name to the same file on our intranet. When I
went to web page preview, this link worked. Very confusing!!!  It seems that
the web button will not hyperlink for me.

Firstly make sure you are on SP3 of 2002. You can get the link for SP3 at
http://www.publishermvps.com

There is still a lot I don't know from this, such as what design object was
used and what steps you went thru setting it up. But my best guess is that
what you linked and where you are clicking are not the same. You may have
put a text box over the design object and yet linked the design object for
example. Try clicking various areas of and around the button looking for the
"hotspot".
