Create website in several language versions

I have created a website with four pages in Publisher. Now I want the same
website to be available in a different language as well. Therefore I have
added a small GIF flag to the website which I want to link to the other
language version of the website. But how do I duplicate all of the original
website without Publisher automatically creating extra buttons on the
website? I just want a simple link to a duplicate website in a different
language. Hope someone can help :)

Hello Almasy, If I understand your goal correctly, then why not build your
site with multiple Publisher files? Just open your Pub file, do a Save As,
change the name slightly, and change that copy to the different language.
Redo as many times as you wish languages, and then link them together. I
actually have most of my site built from multiple pub files, and find it
easier to manage. Here is a good article by David Bartosik that describes
what I am talking about, and though it uses Pub 2000, the principles would
apply to any version of Publisher.

Whoops, it probably would be easier if I remembered to put the link in, eh?

David,

Just to clarify, when you use multiple Pub files in a site, this would
prevent you from using a Nav Bar, correct?  The Nav Bars (at least in 2003)
only allow you to link to other pages within the same file and do not allow
you to hyperlink.  At least thats what I recall...

Hi Chris,

You are correct, but in this case the OP was creating duplicate sites in
different languages, so the Nav Bar would be the same in each, and could use
the Publisher generated Nav Bar.

Generally if you choose to break your site up and use multiple Pub files you
would need to create your own Nav Bar. There are lots of ways to do this,
and I wasn't particularly happy with the limitations of Publisher Nav Bar
anyway. I built a horizontal textual Bar for the bottom of my pages, that I
could just copy and paste to each page. I have also used simple textual
vertical Nav Bar that I jazzed up a bit with javascript to get a color shift
with a mouseover. There are all kinds of free scripts for NavBars that you
can use, but I am using MenuMaker from Xara now:
http://www.xara.com/products/menumaker/
I import my NavBar now to each page, and thus it is easy to change across my
site. I was introduced to MenuMaker here in this forum by Karma Designs who
uses it to design sites. David Bartosik has posted some sample templates by
Karma here:
http://www.publishermvps.com/Default.aspx?tabid=83
And if you want to see some other examples follow the link to Karma Designs
from that template page.

Thanks for your help! I'll give it a go. I'm pretty new to webdesign so the
simplest of things tend to become huge problems :-)
