I am using Publisher 2000 to host our web  site.
How can I put a hit counter on my web so that it works on the web .

First you get a counter; google search for

web counters

This will bring up more than can be used in a lifetime.

Next open you site files with Publisher (or whatever you use) and from the
Insert menu select "HTML code fragment and now draw a rectangle on your web
page.  No need to be exact as long as it isn't on top of any text or image
areas.  A widow opens to allow you to enter the fragment you got from the
google search.

You can move the fragment just by moving it with the mouse arrow, like any
image or text box.
