I recently upgraded to Publisher 2002 (which I use to
design our website) but am using Office 2000 with
FrontPage 2000 to publish the site. Ever since I have
upgraded I have been having difficulty updating the
website and I have noticed that when I open the website in
FrontPage there is no longer an index or home page. Could
this be the root of my problems?

Pub 2002 does not by default, name it "index.htm"
this issue is documented on my site, visit the FAQ and the 2002 section at
www.davidbartosik.com asap.
I recommend against using both Pub and FP.
Using FP to publish is not needed.
I urge you to publish with Pub itself.
You can get my tutorial at
www.davidbartosik.com/ppt.htm
that covers uploading the site.
