I know this is a stupid question, but after I click on "Convert to Web
Publication" and use the wizard,  I can only save the file as ".pub"
Where is the html code to copy to my website?   In short, what is the
procedure for getting a Publisher document into a html document?

Once you have a web publication (if this is for a web site you should just
start out with a web publication rather then start with a print publication)
then revisit the File menu.
Under the File menu will be the option to save it as a web ('save as web' -
this "wording" varies by version which you failed to specified).
It is that option that then takes the pages of the pub file and generates
html versions of them to load directly to the web server or to your local
drive.
Be sure you use the FAQ http://www.publishermvps.com/Default.aspx?tabid=30
and the Web Design section at http://www.publishermvps.com
