Lost Web Files in Publisher

I lost my newsletter file.  The .pub file is corrupt.  However, that happened
after I successfully published it to my host server.  So it exists as
www.myrottweilerpups.com, but the file I need to update and republish the
newsletter is gone.

Is there anyway to download these files from the server to publisher to
regain the .pub editing functing?

No. You will have to start from scratch.

Aaarrrrgggghhhh!  I downloaded the files from the server to my computer, but
of course, if you say it can't be done, it can't be done.  I was able to do
it with Front Page once but can't figure it out this time.

If you have FrontPage, why, oh why, are you using Publisher for your
website?

I cannot figure FP out.  WHen I go in it has a preconceived setup which
doesn't work for me.  It wants to create a personal web page and always says
it cannot find the site.

That's easy. Should be in FP Help as well.
File, Import.

Imports a group of htm files and support files and creates a FP web.

Of course I don't recommend opening pub generated html in FP.

Sorta. In Pub 2003 go to File, Open and browse to the htm file and it will
open. Depending on what version the htm page came from and the basic
complexity of the page objects it will probably work all right. Then turn
around and do File, Save as and save it as a Pub file.
But, did you notice that was for a single htm page? You can open a single
htm file but not multiple files. Hence you have to do some work to recreate
a pub file web publication from htm files. Basically open each htm file and
copy paste into another pub file one page at a time. If the htm pages came
from 2003 and you are opening them in a 2003 web publication you will get
the best results doing this.

A'ha!  That sounds very reasonable.  I also tried to go into my online pages
and right click.  Took a copy and was able to paste with some ability.  But
the links didn't work.  I will try what you suggest.

To the person who asked why oh why I am using Publisher when I have FP?  I
cannot understand FP.  I have tried over and over to create a webpage in
there and was unsuccessful.  However, I did at one time figure out how to
download my Fresca Aire web page into it.  No longer can remember what I did.

I've been gone because my computer crashed after this problem.  Probably a
precursor.

Now I am working on an XP computer and have reinstalled my MSPUB 2000 files
and am ready to try this.  I do not have 2003.

I tried the save as .mht but the file is empty when I try to open it.

Also don't know how to create a web folder in XP.  Lots of troubles.

I guess this forum isn't manned any more?  I never see responses.

Just in case it is.  I did something to rectify the problem and it worked
for one page but it won't work for others.  I right click the existing page
on the web, and copy it.  Then open Word and paste it.  It becomes a working
page which I can then save to Publisher.  However, not all pages work or they
are over big for the standard page size.  I am still working on that problem.
