I've created a proper favicon for my site and uploaded it successfully (I can
view it when I enter my url with /favicon.ico).  I've deleted the internet
cache, apporpriate bookmarks, history, cookies, everything.  Still the
favicon won't appear in bookmarks or the address bar.  To increase cross
browser compatability I've unchecked "Rely on VML for faster......." and
"Allow PNG as a graphics format....." in Web Site Options when I published
the site. I was wondering if this could effect the favicon problem.  I've
tested the site with IE6, Netscape beta8, and Firefox 1.0.4.

Using a favicon has no relevance to using Publisher for your web site. or
vice-versa. If you manually uploaded (separate from the pub web) a properly
formed (www.favicon.com) favicon file, and you can view it in the browser by
addressing it explicitly (../favicon.ico) then it is working.
"Your" being able to view it, or not, in bookmarks/address on "your" pc has
to do with caching and other quirks. Go to another pc that has never
bookmarked your site and is not the pc that created the ico file and you'll
find it is indeed working.

Thanks for getting back.  I'll try that tonight and get back to you.
