Every time I try to change the properties of an autoshape a message comes up
saying this is not a valid measurement.

What are the measurements? Do you get the same pop-up when you manually resize the
object?

You can't get past the pop up.  It appears to happen when you use the webpage
wizard and set the design at the start.

back-up here and give some details starting with what version you are using.

walk us thru what you are doing- what wizard you pick and then tell us the
steps we need so we can try and see what you see by duplicating your steps.

Publisher 2003.
Choose Websites & email then 3 page website. Select one of the templates.
When you try to select a shape to change its colour it's then you get the
'not a valid measurement' error.
(However, it could be that the technicians have disabled something as it is
run from a school network).

Are you right clicking the existing shape, selecting format object, then
going to the colors and lines tab, selecting Fill, Color, and selecting a new
color and clicking ok?
BTW - what I just wrote is what I mean by "detailed steps".
If that is what you are doing, all I can say is that I cannot repro your
issue.
