Saving Publisher Web Site with Correct File Names

I am creating a web site in Publisher 2002 and uploading it with CuteFTP.

When I save as or export as a web page, instead of
http://www.mywebsite.com/etc., the pages have names that relate to where it
is filed -- C:\Documents and Settings\Joe\My Documents, etc.

I need to know how to save it so that it has the correct html page names.

Also, when I save it, it puts the files into a folder called (for example)
mywebsite_files and creates the home page as mywebsite.htm. When I go to
rename the home page index.html, it says that this disconnects it from the
files in the folder. How can I rename it without that happening

Don't use cuteftp, use the publishing instructions available at
http://www.publishermvps.com/WebDesign/Version2003/tabid/33/Default.aspx

Locally referenced links are typically a result of using a master page in a
web publication (versus the print publication). If you created a master page,
drop it.

I recommend you read thru the FAQ -
http://www.publishermvps.com/WebDesign/FAQ/tabid/30/Default.aspx - so you
learn in advance the common mistakes and pitfalls.

In 2002 you "save" it as index.htm during the "publish". That's something
that's in the FAQ.

The first link is not appropriate to 2002.

There is no master page in the publication.

The FAQs are cluttered with too many general issues, and it is very
difficult to find appropriate questions and answers.

Perhaps you will find the detail you seek under the Pub 2002 section if the
FAQs aren't enough. Refer to:

http://www.publishermvps.com/WebDesign/Version2002/tabid/32/Default.aspx

And read Changes in Version 2002, and How to publish to the web. It sounds
like you are not naming the index.html file AS you export your HTML files,
and instead are renaming it after the fact.

Also, be sure to consider the Pub 2002 update if you haven't already done
it. There is a link in the pages referred above, but here it is again:
