Can I use the Office HTML Filter 2.0 from the START menu to remove
Office-specific markup in a Publisher 2003-generated web page?  If so, will
installing iton my Office 2003 Pro system screw-up Word 2003?

As I recall that Filter was an available download specific to Word 2000 webs.
So it was not for Publisher 2000 webs.
The 2002 and 2003 releases of Word and Publisher use a different technology
for their web publications, so I doubt that Filter would be applicable, and
like I said I'm pretty sure it's only compatible with Word 2000.
Your only definitive answer would come from just trying it, test it and see
what happens.
