I have chosen a webpage design and uploaded my files using a free webhost. I
have added alternative text to all my images - including borders included in
the design. All the images on my pages load except the left and right borders
where the alternative is displayed instead. I have confirmed the source code
to the file name in the index_files folder. i've even tried change the file
to a different image format and reuploading and changing the source code. but
still only the alternative text displays.

Any ideas?

State version of Publisher being used, including service pack level.
State URL of page in question for review.

Thank you for your response, but I have since managed a work around. I am
using Publisher 2003 with all Office updates and XP SP2, again with all
recent updates. I could not get some images to load that were part of the
Publisher design template (Scallops - the left and right borders would not
publish to the web). As a workaround, I was able to right click on the each
of the two images in question and save them as pictures. I then deleted them
from the design on each page and reinserted them as picture files. Although I
had tried this originally with no luck, it did prove to be successful on
today's attempt.
