i am at the end of my now very short tether. i have tried everything
suggested on this site and the links posted by david. I have tried to publish
by publisher, terrapin and ws. FTP none of which will connect me- yet i have
put in the ftp name ( sitebuilder.wanadoo.co.uk)given by the host, the user
name and password - I have tried http uploading too- they say the url is not
recognised- tried url of host given, even tried my own url. then I tried
unblocking the firewalls on mcfee and windows firewall. now publisher freezes
and  says is not responding. I have been trying to upload for a week now and
no success. Please Please help me- I have looked at all the links you have
posted and all the articles- what next?!!!

What version of Publisher is this?

Look thru all pages in the web publication, do you have any object(s) that
is not entirely within the document (white space) page? An object that
overhangs the document page and goes into the scratch area (gray space).

I have 2003- I have finally managed to upload by switching both firewalls
off- simple i know in retrospect but never mentioned clearly in publisher.
Anyway the problem now is that the only page registering is the home page-
non of the links work- have tried both ways uploading with sub folder check
on and off- the pages are there I can see them and if I click on the file
names they come up- I am trying to publish to wanadoo- but they do not seem
to be linked and I am not sure what to do. is there somethng I am missing - i
have gone through all the faq's you have mentioned on the subject- does
wanadoo break the links or something - do I have to modify the file notepad?

thanks for replying

The trouble shooting upload issues article I wrote covers firewalls.

as for trouble shooting your hyperlinks, there are a number of possible
causes. Probably the biggest cause is when you don't own your own domain and
web space and so the provider you are using frames your pages. Publisher
writes some relative links that the framing will break. Look in View menu
source to look for framing. And you have to start with simple basic common
sense- hover the mouse over a link and look in the status bar at the url
being displayed. Is that the same url you uploaded the page to?
