Dell happily ruining one man firm over domain "infringement"

Multinational computer giant Dell is about to grind down Paul Dell, a UK
web designer living in Menorca outside Spain. Paul is running his own,
small business, creating web sites. Therefore, his firm is called Dell
Web Sites, and the domain he has is www.dellwebsites.

That's something he shouldn't have done, at least according to Dell
computers, who think the domain rightfully belong to them. Hence, they
have been after Paul for a couple of years, giving him no rest. Just
recently, they turned up the heat, suing him for 100,000.00 Euro in
damages (that's about USD 120,000.00) to be paid to Dell America. In
addition to that, Dell France (where he used to live/work and where
Dell's lawyers are working from) want 50,000.00 Euro (USD 60,000.00) and
then there some posts on 40,000.00 Euro and more.

Paul has decided to fight Dell as he simply want to keep his domain and
be left alone. He's not interested in any out-of-court settlements and
Non-Disclosure Agreements as the world desperately need public court
decisions in as many jurisdictions as possible, covering as many cases
as possible, in order to give us some guidance. Every private settlement
out of court will just leave the field wide open for the multinationals
to allow them harass and crush little guys like you and me.

To read more about Dell vs Paul, read the article from last year here:

A similar event took place here in the Northwest (USA) were a cozy little
coffee shop by the name of Sambuck's in Astoria OR was the victim of
Starbuck's who tried to storm through Astoria like Panzers through Poland.
Sambuck's is owned and operated by Samantha Buck.  After a couple of years
of public outcry Starbuck's retreated with their tail between their legs.  I
thought during the early months of Starbuck's terror Sambuck's should have
put a sign in their window saying "Our Coffee tastes better than Starbuck's
Coffee."  I would think that would have left no doubt Sambuck's was not part
of the Starbuck's Reich.

So, my suggestion for Paul Dell would be, add a tag line on his website
saying, "We are not part of the Dell Computer Company. We have nice people
here."
