Does anyone have any problems with Beta 2 Publisher 2007?
I have published 9 pages as I normally do in 2003 but in 2007 this time and
images are not showing if you log to web site

www.docsonline.net.au

Any ideas on what I need to do? Never had this problem before  with
publisher I have loaded it a few times but no different?
Help MUCH APPRECIATED....

It looked fine this morning, with images loading on each page I looked at.

Thatt's old site.  New site is sitting behind on a free log in this month.

I delete all pages bar 1 and reloaded to be front end non subscriber and the
images worked.

So I guess it is a BETA thing - it took a while to load the images.

It is being uploaded again but I fear the subscriber log in which is free
this month if I can get it up will need to be redone.

Odd - though.

There shouldn't be that much difference in Pub 2007. The coding engine has
only been tweaked a bit since Pub 2003, and works basically the same way.
Perhaps you did not use the supporting folder "index_files", which contain
the images, when you used Pub 2003? It would need to be uploaded along with
the "index.htm" file to your subfolder "subscriber". Look under Tools >
Options > Web tab, for the "Organize supporting files in a folder" option,
and while you are there, untick "Allow PNG...". I believe that the "Rely on
VML..." option has been removed for Pub 2007. Are you using a different
Publisher file to produce your "subscriber" content?

Did all the usual stuff the right way and it is just slow must be PNG
stuff - but I thought I dsabled - although I do have lots of PNG images.
Will disable them.
I have published for 2 years now David  with 2003 and had no problems
exxcept the basic flawys.

Tks for tip I shall check that now..

Fred,

I noticed that you have uploaded the "new site" now. The images are taking a
bit longer to load than perhaps they should/could. In looking at the source
code it seemed somewhat bloated. When you produce your HTML files from
Publisher, are you doing a Save As a Web Page, or a Publish to the Web? The
later produces filtered, less bloated code. Also, unlike Pub 2003, the
"compress image" option is automatic instead of optional as it was, and you
may be bypassing that automated process, if you were doing a Save As a Web
Page, which might account for your slower loading images. Also, be sure to
disable "Allow PNG...", and this will limit the number of PNG files that
will be produced and used.

Just a couple thoughts...

Hi
Always Publish to Web and they are taking longer to load - it must be an
error in 2007 as it was always quite quick. And there are less images than I
usually use.

Yes finally I got it up after numerous attempts.....
