Using HTML fragment to create caption as link to captioned thumbnail that
opens the complete photo in a new window.  How do I change the background
color behind the text of the caption?

You change the "background" color in a code fragment box the same way that
you would a text box. Select the box, and change the "fill color"...look for
a little "pouring bucket" icon on the tool bar.

Tried that and fill color shows up in .pub file but not when viewed as a web
page.  But . . . did create a rectangle same size as the fragment box,
colored it a sent it behind the frag box.  Works fine that way once you get
the two items lined up and view as web page the colored rectangle is behind
the link text.  Ta Da.

Thanks for the feedback. I use Pub 2000 primarily, and 2003 only to test
things, and it does work in Pub 2000. Conversely, your technique does not
work in Pub 2000, as it will create a combined image of the overlapped
objects. Thanks...I learn something almost everyday.
