Welp, I'm no expert but; an image with a file size of 100k can easily be
optimized down to 15K (maybe even smaller) with no noticible viewable
difference on the web.
Most good image editors have something like Save For Web or Optimize
options. Download and try IrFanview...takes a few minutes to learn but
experiment with different optimization levels and see the difference (or
lack of).
BTw, you don't want to keep compressing jpgs...in other words don't;
optimize/compress your jpg, then do it again and save it, and again...or you
will have mud left. Always work with a high res non-lossy image file (like a
tif or psd) then convert it to a jpg if it fits your needs, then optimize it
and use it.
sorry am in a hurry to get outta here right now...

Hi Rob,
I have similar problem with a video clip I download to my webpage, the
video is 27MB in size. How ca I down size it so I can download & open the web
page faster?
How do I get rid of the words that appear in the middle of the video after
down sizing it?
Thanks

You'd have to edit the video. I don't work with video much so can't help you
too much here.
Or find a host that supports streaming video at a reasonable price (they
usually charge extra for streaming).
