I have a technical legal question that maybe someone can answer. If I
use publisher or some other web editor program to put a web site
together for money. Does anyone know what the legal ramifications
could be for using their product to make money for myself?
I realize this may sound like a lame question, but I really can not
afford someone knocking on my door wanting more then I am making to
use their product.
TIA

Skip,

You may not be able to use the clip art (I always thought it was fine to
use but I read someplace recently that it might not be allowed) but for
all other intents and purposes, you can use any program you wish to
"create" a web site. Some aspects of a site, such as a counter, survey
taker, mailing list sign-up option may be copyright protected, in which
case you will have to get the permission of the owner. Using a program
to create a site is like using a typewriter to write a book - Underwood
is not going to come and get you!

Mike,
Thank you for your response. I thought it would be something like
that, but was not sure. I just would hate to have someone knocking on
my door in the early morning hours and claim they want money..:)
Anyway, thanks again.

You can use Publisher to produce anything for money...just like you would
use a typewriter or wordprocessor to write a book for money. You can use
clip art too, but you must read the EULA on any clip art first.
