AFAIK, Pub doesn't have this built in function, especially in a
template. Here's a script that was suggested in another web design
group: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/password.htm

In addition to what Mike suggested, every host will offer some means of
providing a password protected folder. How they do that depends on the host,
so check the FAQs and support section at your host's site.

Your question is a bit confusing, but if you are saying that you want just
one part of your website password protected, you can produce that part with
a second Publisher document. Then upload it to the password protected folder
on your site and link it to your main site.

You may need to chat with your ISP for the particulars.  I have a couple of
Publisher 2000 websites and the method I use is what is offered by my ISP.

Read items 32 and 33 for particulars at
http://www.iinet.com/support/faqlist.php?cat=web%20hosting

Also, you may visit my test site and see a couple of User ID/Password
protected folders.  Similar setup can protect the entire website.

Good luck,
