publisher to front page

Someone mentioned that Publisher is not the best program to design a webpage for FrontPage. I have my home page designed in Publisher. (I don't know how to make the same images in FrontPage.) So I saved it as a webpage, then imported it into FrontPage. The only thing is that it converts back to Publisher. If someone is viewing this on the website, will the Publisher page work? Should I find a different graphics program for Front Page?

Pub makes web pages. FrontPage makes web pages. Why would you use Publisher
to make a web page in FP?

make images? Publisher is not a graphics program. The deluxe editions come
bundles with a graphics program.
now if you are referring to putting some images and textboxs and / or
wordart on the page, you can capture that and use it, refer to
http://www.davidbartosik.com/pub2k/pub2k_24.htm ( the results may not be as
good as if you'd created it in a graphics program)

what converts??
if you imported the html files in FP, then you now have an FP web. You now
open FP, open the web and maintain and modify the pages in the FP web.

of course you can decide to not maintain your new FP web and choose instead
to go back to the .pub file for making changes. just make up your mind, use
one or the other. they each work so very differently and code so very
differently that going back and forth will just burn up time and give you
grief.

viewing what?? you put an html file on your web it's viewable. what wrote
the code, be it Pub or FP, is not important.

FrontPage is not a graphics program. Publisher is not a graphics program.
Microsoft's graphics program is PictureIt, now also known as Digital Imaging
Pro.

I set up my homepage in Publisher because I'm familiar with the program. I have tried and tried and tried to do the same in FP and it just doesn't work. It's a simple hexagon, split up in 6 different areas, our logo is set in the middle. Looks great in Publisher, can't do it in FP. When I saved it as a WebPage, I checked it out on FP. When I open it, it converts back to Publisher, not FP. So it's difficult for me set up hyperlinks because text boxes and split up.

Sounds like you're just using Publisher to create a graphic. Using the
article I mentioned earlier obtain the image file of your design.
Then open a blank page in FP and stick the image file in and then complete
the page as desired.
