I have a Publisher file that was created with Publisher
2000. It is a website and contains a variety of text
files and pictures. When I loaded it in Publisher 2003,
it seemed to convert OK. However, when I 'Publish to
Web', it ALWAYS creates PNG files which are VERY large! I
can no longer update my site because my ISP doesn't
provide enough space. I have NOT selected PNG support,
yet when I publish to the web it creates PNG files.
In Publisher 2003, is is possible to publish to the web
with NO PNG files? In Publisher 2000, these files were
JPGs about 50K each. Now they are PNG files and are about
4MB each!

No. There will always be some png's. The option is misleading.

Microsoft gave me a workaround. I have to delete all of
the images and put them back in. This seemed to work on
the few images I tried it with. They were original jpg's
about 125K.
