Publisher 2003 Upload Problems

Last week I purchased web hosting and domain name from Bravenet.com
I created my webpage in Publisher2003 and have attempted to upload it from
Publisher, and also with WS_FTP with the following results:

After going to >publish to the web> add/modify ftp locations in publisher, I
created the ftp location. When I tried to save it to the new ftp location,
the little hourglass icon appeared on the screen for a long time, and then
the program stops responding. I checked the publication to ensure that no
items were overlapping the margins. None were.

When I try the WS_FTP program, I'm able to connect and my norcalmarket~
folder shows in the right side, but when I try to transfer files it gives me
a 553 error and says permission denied.

Ideally I want to publish from within publisher. I'm getting extremely
frustrated...

553 would be a server error. If the server has an issue it would block
Publisher.
Contact the web hosting provider on this.

David,
Would her index page extension using ftp or http, or from the host server, need to be named .html or .htm using Publisher 2003?
Or is there a difference {index page file extensions} in uploading sites to the host server using Publisher '03 as a whole?
Thanks for any information

Pub automatically makes it .htm
the server recognizes both .htm and .html equally, you don't need to be
concerned with it.

When I set up the FTP folder in Publisher, what should I type in the "name
of ftp site" box if my Server is ftp.norcalmarketing.net and my Remote
Directory is /norcalmarketing.net

Thanks

You type in whatever your host tells you the 'ftp protocol' server name is.
Depending on their configuration that could be
ftp.norcalmarketing.net
or
norcalmarketing.net
or
www.norcalmarketing.net
or something obscure.
Most hosts state what it is on their help site, or faq.

I too have tried to publish a web page with Publisher 2003.  When
opened File>Publish to Web....there was no icon, as help instruction
said their would be, for FTP Locations?  That was problem #1....

I next tried to upload the page using another FTP utility.  The tex
showed up fine, but graphics, pics and background did not??

Any and all help would be appreciated

you must not have clicked the drop down box and scrolled down to ftp
locations.

you must have failed to upload the sub-folder.
a typical mistake which is esaily avoided by uploading thru Publisher.

I recommend you go thru my uploading tutorial at
