I've read the tutorials and cannot find anything about
proxy settings.  Any thoughts on this error?  I'd be bummed
to have to use a different FTP other than the one already
in Pub2003.  Part of the reason for my purchase was for the
ease upload.  The really odd part is that SOMETIMES it will
upload, but mostly not without any ryhme or reason.  All
rhyme and reason is welcomed.....

ERROR MESSAGE
This error message is usually associated with an attempt to
access an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) web site through a
fire wall/proxy server and the proxy settings are not set
correctly to gain access.
To avoid this error message, change the FTP proxy settings
to allow access to the site.

Sounds like you are using a work pc behind a firewall. You'd need to request
of your network support staff that they grant your pc's IP address ftp
rights.
Optionally you can upload thru publisher's http mode instead.

Actually it is for my home biz and I went into my internet
connections and for sure do not have my firewall enabled.
How does one publish in http -- I've gone to the help sites
and can't seem to find it anywhere.

Also publisher stops responding while I am trying to
publish lately.  Completely freezes.  Sigh....help &thanks,
Lu-C

Use my upload tutorial at www.davidbartosik.com/ppt.htm

So far every case I've seen of Pub freezing during a publish has been due to
having an object(s) on a page(s) that overlaps both the document area AND
the scratch area. You can't do that, objects need to be off the page OR on
it. NOT straddling both.
